About Car Warranty Compare
Plain answers to questions readers ask about how this site works and who runs it.
Who operates this site
Car Warranty Compare is operated by Kovara, an AI-native extended warranty platform company. Kovara operates the following channel-specialist consumer brands, which are listed on this site alongside third-party providers:
- Vista Warranty — Sold exclusively through participating insurance agencies — not available direct-to-consumer.
- DriveOne — Sold through dealer service drives and used-car lots — not through dealer F&I offices.
- MemberOne Warranty — Post-close CU member benefit, integrated with credit union LOS — offered only to members whose auto loan doesn't already have existing protection.
- MotoOne — Direct-to-consumer, self-serve warranty purchase with AI-priced quotes.
This relationship is disclosed on a banner at the top of every page, in the footer of every page, and inline on every comparison or article page where providers are named.
How we rank providers
We don't rank providers in a single “best warranty” order, because there isn't one. The right provider depends on the reader's channel — whether they have an insurance agent, a credit union relationship, a dealer service relationship, or are shopping direct-to-consumer.
Our comparison framework starts with the channel. Within each channel, we compare providers on concrete, verifiable attributes:
- Underwriter and AM Best rating where available.
- Coverage type (powertrain, stated-component, exclusionary).
- Mileage cap structure.
- Deductible structure.
- Financing terms.
- Waiting period.
- Cancellation policy.
- Who the provider is actually a good fit for.
We do not publish a “best overall” leaderboard because that's not the right way to choose coverage.

We do not accept sponsored placements. Provider listings reflect editorial coverage, not paid relationships with the providers themselves.
